Airport arrival or a later island pickup?
Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) is on Mahé, and the search lists it as its own pickup point. A car rented on Mahé may not leave Mahé, so a car on Praslin needs its own rental on Praslin.
A rental can start on the day you land or later in the stay. Pickup in Victoria is a separate search from the airport. With car collection straight after landing, the booking sets the pickup place and time, and the email sent after booking gives the rental company’s contact details.
Where can I arrange car hire on Mahé?
The Mahé search lists the Cat Cocos ferry terminal, the cruise port and city delivery. Victoria has its own search with city delivery. Any delivery charge appears in the offer.
The rental company’s contact details arrive in the email sent after booking. Questions about pickup at a port or an address go to that company.

How long do I need a rental car?
The minimum chargeable period is 24 hours. A rental from Monday morning to Tuesday afternoon is charged as two full days, because every started day counts as a full day.
An extension needs advance notice to the rental agent. At booking you pay an advance of 15 to 20 percent of the rental cost, and the rest is paid to the rental agent at pickup.
Which car suits my party and luggage?
Each listing shows the number of seats, the transmission and the model year, and the offer shows the price for your dates.
The driver’s minimum age and driving experience are listed on each car’s page and can differ between similar models. The rental agent may refuse the car if the driver does not meet them. Photographs on this site are model examples.
Choose your rental datesWhat should I expect from Mahé roads?
UK government travel advice describes Mahé’s roads as narrow and winding, with hairpin bends, unprotected drops and uncovered roadside drains. It also warns that heavy downpours reduce visibility.
Rental cars may be driven only on paved public roads, whatever the vehicle. Driving in Seychelles is on the left-hand side of the road. Fuel, parking, fines and toll roads are paid by the renter.

What documents and payment method do I need?
You need a valid national driving licence with its details also in Latin script, valid until at least the last day of the rental. Copies and electronic licences are not accepted. An International Driving Permit is strongly recommended if your licence is valid only in the country that issued it.
A physical embossed credit card in the main driver’s name may be required at pickup. Where debit cards are accepted, the booking and voucher say so, and the card must be physical, personalised, embossed and in the main driver’s name. The conditions for your rental list all fifteen country rules.
Can I return somewhere else on Mahé?
The search can set a different return place on Mahé. The car stays on Mahé.
Return the car with the same fuel level as at pickup. Missing fuel is charged at the company’s rates, and extra fuel is not refunded. A car returned too dirty to inspect is washed at the renter’s expense.
What if Praslin is the next stop?
Travel outside the car’s home island is prohibited, so the Mahé car stays on Mahé. Praslin has its own search and a separate booking.
Standard insurance does not cover the wheels, undercarriage, windscreen or interior, and the cover and excess on the selected car are shown in its offer. After an insured event you must notify the rental agent immediately and obtain a police report, unless agreed otherwise with the agent; otherwise the insurance is cancelled.
