Should I choose Victoria or the airport?

Victoria Seychelles car rental uses its own search, with city delivery, separate from car hire at the airport on Mahé. A Victoria rental can start later in the stay. Any delivery charge appears in the offer.

Can I arrange collection near the port?

The general Mahé search lists the Cat Cocos ferry terminal and the cruise port. Victoria’s own search lists city delivery.

The rental company’s contact details arrive in the email sent after booking, and questions about the meeting point go to that company. The phone number given at booking, with its country code, must be reachable throughout the rental and on the day before pickup.

How should I compare the available cars?

Each offer shows the total price for the dates, the deposit, the seats and the transmission. Minimum age and driving experience are listed on each car’s page and can differ between similar models.

For a different starting point, car hire options on Mahé include the airport, the Cat Cocos ferry and the cruise port. At booking you pay an advance of 15 to 20 percent, and the rest is paid to the rental agent at pickup.

What documents and payment details need checking?

The main driver needs a valid physical national licence with its details also in Latin script; the driver documents named for an airport pickup are the same in Victoria. Copies and electronic licences are not accepted.

A physical embossed credit card in the main driver’s name may be required, and the payment conditions for the selected car say whether a debit card is accepted. The deposit is separate from the rental price.

Can I drive beyond Victoria during the rental?

A Victoria rental may be driven anywhere on Mahé on paved public roads. Travel outside the home island is prohibited, so the car cannot go to Praslin.

Can the return point differ from collection?

The search can set a different return place on Mahé.

The minimum chargeable period is 24 hours, and a started extra day is charged as a full day. An extension needs advance notice to the rental agent.

What should I check at handover and return?

The car goes back with the fuel level it had at pickup. The insurance conditions attached to the vehicle exclude the wheels, undercarriage, windscreen and interior from standard cover.

Missing fuel is charged at the company’s rates, and extra fuel is not refunded. A car too dirty to inspect is washed at the renter’s expense. Parking and fines in Victoria are paid by the renter. Other pickup locations are listed on the locations page.
