Does every car require the same deposit?
No. The Seychelles country terms set no single deposit, and each offer shows its own. For rental options at the airport, the rental price and the deposit are shown separately. Some offers hold no deposit, and some accept the deposit in cash.
Will I need a physical credit card?
For car rental on Mahé and on Praslin, the booking and the voucher state whether a debit card is accepted. Renting a car may require a physical embossed credit card in the main driver’s name.
If a card is required, it must be with you at pickup. A companion’s card does not meet a main-driver requirement.

Can I pay with a debit card?
A second Praslin booking has its own payment conditions, even if the Mahé company accepted the same card. Some rental companies accept debit cards, and the booking and voucher say so.
An accepted debit card must be physical, personalised, embossed and in the main driver’s name, and must be with you at pickup.
Are the deposit and insurance excess interchangeable?
No. The deposit is security under the rental agreement; the excess is the renter’s share of a covered claim. For a complete comparison you also need the vehicle’s insurance and exclusions, which each offer shows. Standard insurance does not cover the wheels, undercarriage, windscreen or interior.
Choose your rental datesWhen and how is the rental price paid?
At booking you pay an advance of 15 to 20 percent of the total rental cost. The rest is paid to the rental agent at pickup.
A booking cancelled at least 7 days before the rental starts (30 days for luxury cars and convertibles, 24 hours with the Free cancellation option) has its advance refunded, less a payment service fee of 6 percent of the amount paid, within 14 days of the refund request and to the paying account unless agreed otherwise. A later cancellation, or a missed pickup without prior coordination, keeps the advance. To change a booking you cancel it and book again.

What other costs should I allow for?
Fuel, parking, fines and toll roads are paid by the renter. Missing fuel at return is charged at the company’s rates, and extra fuel is not refunded. A car too dirty to inspect is washed at the renter’s expense.
The minimum chargeable period is 24 hours, and a started extra day is charged as a full day. Delivery charges, where they apply, appear in the offer.
What should I confirm before collection and return?
The main driver needs a valid physical national licence with its details also in Latin script, valid until at least the last rental day; copies and electronic licences are not accepted. The meeting instructions and the vehicle inspection belong to the same pickup, where the licence and any required card must be with you.
The country terms set no deadline for releasing a deposit. The rental company’s contact details are in the booking email, and questions about a deposit go to that company.
