Seychelles Airport pickup happens on Mahé, at Seychelles International Airport (SEZ). Your Seychelles Airport car rental starts and ends on Mahé, because a rental car may not leave its home island. Separate searches cover other pickup areas on Mahé: Victoria, the Cat Cocos ferry, the cruise port and city delivery.

The licence and any required card must be with you at pickup. Your Seychelles car rental insurance is shown in the car’s offer, and the card and deposit requirements are in its payment conditions. Where a card is required, it must be in the main driver’s name.

Where will the rental company meet me?

The rental company’s contact details are in the email sent after booking. Questions about the meeting point go to that company.

The booking sets the pickup date and time. Questions about the car and the service go to that rental company.

What should I confirm before the flight?

Failing to arrive at the booked place and time without prior coordination with the rental company or the booking service is a no-show: it is treated as a late cancellation, and the advance is kept.

The phone number given at booking, with its country code, must be reachable throughout the rental and on the day before pickup, by phone or by Viber, WhatsApp or Telegram. Service quality claims are not accepted if the renter could not be reached.

Which documents belong in my hand luggage?

A valid national driving licence with its details also in Latin script, valid until at least the last day of the rental. Copies and electronic licences are not accepted. The conditions published for Seychelles strongly recommend an International Driving Permit if the licence is valid only in its issuing country.

The driver’s minimum age and driving experience are listed on each car’s page and can differ between similar models. The rental agent may refuse the car if the driver does not meet them.

Do I need a particular payment card?

A physical embossed credit card in the main driver’s name may be required at pickup. A card on a phone wallet is not a physical card, and a companion’s card does not meet a main-driver requirement.

Where debit cards are accepted, the booking and voucher say so, and the card must be physical, personalised, embossed and in the main driver’s name. At booking you pay an advance of 15 to 20 percent of the rental cost; the rest is paid to the rental agent at pickup.

What should I check at the handover?

A car returned so dirty that it cannot be inspected is washed at the renter’s expense.

The car goes back with the fuel level it had at pickup; missing fuel is charged at the company’s rates, and extra fuel is not refunded.

What should I know before the first drive?

Traffic drives on the left. UK government travel advice describes Mahé’s roads as narrow and winding, with hairpin bends, unprotected drops and uncovered roadside drains.

Your first journey on the island may use paved public roads only, whatever the vehicle. Standard insurance does not cover the wheels, undercarriage, windscreen or interior.

How should I plan the return?

The booking sets the return place and time. The search can set a different return place on Mahé. The minimum chargeable period is 24 hours, and a started extra day is charged as a full day.

A rental car on Praslin needs its own booking. Separate rentals for each island each have their own dates and return, so the Mahé car stays on Mahé and your Praslin car is collected on Praslin. An extension of the first rental needs advance notice to the rental agent.

How should I organise the first stop?

The access road to your accommodation must be a paved public road. Parking charges and fines are paid by the renter.

After an insured event you must notify the rental agent immediately and obtain a police report, unless agreed otherwise with the agent. If you do not, the insurance is cancelled and you are fully responsible.

Frequently asked questions

What should I do if my flight is delayed?

The rental company’s contact details are in the email sent after booking. A pickup missed without prior coordination with the rental company or the booking service is treated as a late cancellation, and the advance is kept.

Which licence should I bring to airport collection?

A valid physical national driving licence with its details also in Latin script, valid until the last day of the rental. Copies and electronic licences are not accepted.

Can I collect at the airport and return at a ferry terminal?

The search can set a different return place on the same island. The car must stay on its home island.
